Frequently Asked Questions

How long does it take for the concrete to cure?

Concrete typically takes 24 to 48 hours to set enough for light foot traffic and about 7 days to cure to 70% strength. Full curing usually takes 28 days, depending on weather and mix. We always recommend waiting the full cure time before placing heavy loads or parking vehicles.

Do I need a permit?

In most cities, permits are required for structural concrete work like foundations, driveways, or retaining walls. If you live in an HOA you will likely also need get your project approved by the HOA. We’ll help you understand local requirements and can assist with the permitting process to ensure your project is fully compliant.

How long will my new driveway or pad last?

A properly installed and maintained concrete driveway or patio can last 25–30 years or more. Durability depends on soil conditions, drainage, thickness, and whether the concrete is sealed and reinforced.

Can concrete work be done year-round?

Yes, but extra precautions are needed. In the hot AZ summer weather, we use additives and curing techniques to prevent cracks. In cold weather, we use techniques to ensure proper curing. We always follow industry best practices for seasonal pours.

What is the difference between stamped and regular?

Stamped concrete is regular concrete that's textured and colored to mimic the look of stone, brick, or tile. It offers the same strength and durability but adds a decorative finish, making it ideal for patios, walkways, and driveways.

How much does concrete work cost?

Concrete pricing depends on the time of year, size of the project, thickness, finish type, and site conditions. Basic flatwork typically ranges from $8–$15 per square foot, while decorative or stamped finishes cost more. We offer free estimates tailored to your specific project needs.
